Merchant, importer, mining administrator. Birth and death dates unknown. Manuel I. Madrid conducted business in Havana, Cuba, as well as in Mexico City, Veracruz, Guanajuato, and other Mexican cities. By 1847 Madrid was involved in administering mines, some of which were the investments of Ewen C. MacKintosh. In 1851 Madrid was the director of the Casa de Moneda in Guanajuato.
